In General

Our Lady of the Rosary Church is located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. It is in Union City, California, which is bordered by Hayward to the North and Fremont to the South. It is actually half-way between Oakland and San Jose, and is situated along the I-880 corridor. The Church is located in the Catholic Diocese of Oakland.

Do You Live in Our Parish?

If you live on the side of Union City which is east of the Freeway, or if you live along the section of Mission Boulevard in Hayward which is south of Fairway Park, you probably live in our parish boundaries. Whether or not you live in our boundaries, you are most welcome to come join us.

Directions to Our Lady of the Rosary Church:

From San Francisco, Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, and the San Mateo Bridge:

· Take Interstate 880 (the Nimitz Freeway) South.

· Take the first off-ramp in Union City: Whipple Road.

· At the end of the off-ramp, turn right. Proceed down Whipple Road towards the East, Going under the overpass and towards the hills.

· When you go over the BART tracks, the speed limit will lower from 40 to 25 mph.

· Once this happens, look to the right for 6th Street (three streets later).

· Turn right on 6th Street, and then right on "C" Street.

From San Jose, Milpitas, and Fremont:

· Take Interstate 880 (the Nimitz Freeway) North.

· In Fremont, take the Decoto Road off-ramp.

· At the end of he off-ramp, turn right. Proceed down Decoto Road into Union City, traveling towards the East and towards the hills.

· Once you have passed under the elevated BART tracks, look for 9th Street - turn left.

· Proceed down 9th Street for 7 blocks.

· Turn right on "C" Street.

From the Tri-Valley Area (Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon):

· Take Interstate 580 (The Walter Breed Jr. Freeway) North/West.

· In Hayward, at the large interchange, stay in the left lanes and "go straight" so that you will be traveling on Interstate 238.

· Soon after the interchange, take the "Highway 880 South - San Jose" exit.

· Take Interstate 880 (the Nimitz Freeway) South.

· Take the first off-ramp in Union City: Whipple Road.
