Our Lady of the Rosary Church

We have a Holy Hour, with a Service of Benediction, every First Friday of the month from 9:00 a.m to 7:30 p.m. This service is bi-lingual.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

This group offers couples a weekend away that allows them to spend time with each other and to deepen their love for one another. The weekend is led by a couple and a priest. The weekend is intended for couples with good marriages to make them better using new tools of communication to enhance their marriage. Marriage Encounter

One of our parish couples is affiliated with the Retrouvaille program. They would like to hear from you! Retrouvaille is a program to help marriages that have become distant, hurtful, and uncaring. For more information visit the web site or contact Dave and Maria Elena Byron at (510) 489-5799.

Oakland Retrouvaille

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program allows Catholics to gain a deeper understanding of their faith, and prepares non-Catholics for joining the Church. The program also prepares adults for receiving sacraments that they did not receive when they were younger. Those who take part in this program in order to receive sacraments or to join our church require a sponsor, who will guide and support the person on their faith journey. Sponsors find their role to be a very rewarding experience. There is also a post-RCIA program, called the GIFT Program. The Rosary is prayed in Spanish Monday through Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m.

Scripture studies are held as follows:

English Group - Every Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. in the Eddie Dobrec Room

Little Rock Scripture Study (English) - Seasonally, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Library of the Parish School

Scripture Study

Stations of the Cross are held in Spanish every Friday evening during Lent at 7:00 p.m. To take part, just stop on by!

Stations of the Cross

On the Wednesday nights of Lent starting at 6:00, a Soup and Bread Supper is held in the Parish Hall. Those attending are asked to make a donation equal to that which they would have otherwise spent on dinner that evening. The proceeds help various projects and agencies in our community that assist those who are in need. After the supper, at 7:00, a program of reflection and prayer is offered in the Church. We hope you will stop by and take part in this program.

Wednesday Night Lenten Devotion

Small faith-sharing communities have formed in the parish, kindled by the RENEW program which was held from 1995 through 1997. The small groups allow parishioners to reflect upon the Word of God, discuss it, and relate God's word to experiences in their everyday lives. Small Faith-Sharing Communities
