Our Lady of the Rosary Church

Altar servers assist the Celebrant during Mass. Altar Servers may be girls or boys who are in fourth grade or above. Teenage Altar Servers serve leadership roles in the program. The program also offers our youth social events, such as barbecues and trips to theme parks. It is an honor to serve the parish as an Altar Server, so we hope that you will give this ministry your prayerful consideration. Altar Servers

The English Choir leads our community in song each week at the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, while the Spanish Choir sings at the 9:45 a.m. Sunday Mass. These choirs join together for some of our holy day celebrations. The English Choir practices after the 11:30 a.m Sunday Mass. For more information e-mail or call Donna Santos at (510) 471-2609. Choir

Eucharistic Ministers assist in giving the Body and Blood of Christ to their fellow parishioners. They also serve together as Sacristans, and greet churchgoers with a friendly "Hello!" as they arrive at Mass. Eucharistic Ministers

Lectors proclaim the Word of God at Mass once or twice each month. Lectors are also asked to participate in special liturgies and training sessions. Lectors

Our Ushers serve weekly at their favorite Mass. They greet parishioners as they come to church, assist them in finding a seat, attend to emergencies, assist those who present the gifts at the Altar, distribute bulletins, ensure that Communion lines are orderly, and take up our parishioners' financial offerings. Ministry of Hospitality
